BASEBALL: WCDS pushes by Community Christian

Wayne Country Day recorded a 10-5 victory over Community Christian on Tuesday and punched its ticket to the Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference tournament title game.
John Strickland led the team with three hits, five RBI and a three-run homer. Mitch Turnage (RBI), Avery Browning, Jon Bryan (RBI), Case Kermode and Jack Talton (two RBI) had one hit apiece.
Talton, Strickland and Kermode combined to allow six hits, three walks and struck out 15. Strickland picked up the mound victory.
The Chargers (16-5) will face Wayne Christian in the tournament title game on Thursday.
