CALYPSO -- Haley Brogden fired a no-hitter as North Duplin cranked out a 13-0, mercy-rule victory over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Rosewood on Wednesday evening.
Brogden filed 11 strikeouts and one walk. The Eagles had just two runners to reach base.
"Haley did a phenomenal job in the circle," RHS head coach Shay Campbell said.
The Rebels' Brooke Cottle batted 3-for-3 with two singles that bounced off the fence and a three-run home run. She ended the night with five RBI.
"Tonight we played with no heart and no passion," said Eagles' head coach Shay Campbell, who added the players needed to "light a fire within themselves" and "play together and have some pride in the way they play."
Rosewood entertains conference rivals Spring Creek today and James Kenan on Friday.
