PREP BASEBALL: Dupuy, Gators defeat Eastern Wayne

Matt Dupuy turned in a 99-pitch complete game as Spring Creek knocked off county rival Eastern Wayne 3-1 on Thursday evening.
Dupuy permitted an unearned run on nine hits and posted one strikeout.
Kaden Geelen paced the Gators' offense with two hits and an RBI. Dupuy and Landon Smothers each had one hit. Christian Yarbrough drove in a run.
Landon Ginn (RBI), Will Uzzell, Tanner Wells and Colby Miller recorded two hits apiece for the Warriors. Teammate Jay Wiseman batted 1-for-2.
Ginn started on the mound and held the Gators scoreless for 11/3 innings. Wells tossed 52/3 innings of four-hit, 10-strikeout relief and was saddled with the loss.
Eastern Wayne returns to action Saturday against Rocky Mount in the Golden Leaf Invitational. Game time is noon at Boyette Field on the Fike HS campus.
Spring Creek is off until April 21 when it participates in the two-day, four-team Deacon Jones Invitational at Princeton HS.
