BOYS' TRACK: CBA places 2nd at JH Rose

GREENVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock filed five first-place finishes during a four-team Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference meet ran at J.H. Rose on Wednesday afternoon.
Jarius Hinnant emerged the top performer in the high jump. Trevor Holt -- as usual -- bested the competition in the discus and shot put. Regional qualifier Kamarion Graham claimed the 100-meter dash and Deshawn Owens, one of the area's top distance runners, picked up the win in the two-mile (3,200-meter) run.
Mohammad Brooks placed second in the high jump. Hinnant and John Rodriguez secured second and third, respectively, in the long jump. Elijah Bryant finished behind Holt in the discus and shot put.
Micah Castillo was second in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 110 hurdles. David McIver secured third in the 400.
CBA grabbed second in the 4x1 relay and third in the 4x4 relay.
The Golden Falcons will take a 13-day break before returning to action April 26 for a three-team meet Eastern Wayne. The Warriors will unveil their new track as they host a meet for the first time in 10-plus years.
