BASEBALL: Rosewood crushes Hobbton

Rosewood put up a seven-spot in bottom of the fifth inning and handed Hobbton an 11-1, mercy-rule loss in Carolina 1-A Conference play Tuesday.
The Eagles remained unbeaten in eight league outings this season.
Kolby Harris emerged as Rosewood's offensive leader with three hits and an RBI. Tucker Chapin batted 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Boone Moody posted two hits and three RBI.
Jonathan Peacock (RBI) and Derek Neal (RBI) each contributed one hit.
Tanner Bradley drew three walks and drove in a run.
Harris tossed a complete-game two-hitter on the mound and sat down eight Hobbton batters on strikeouts. He threw 57 pitches -- 40 strikes.
Rosewood (10-2 overall, 8-0 CC) entertains James Kenan on Thursday. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
