SOFTBALL: Santos, Rebels stifle Lakewood

SALEMBURG -- Alyssa Santos scattered six hits during a complete-game effort inside the circle, and North Duplin handed Lakewood a 14-2 defeat on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene.
Santos surrendered two earned runs, walked four and retired eight Leopards on strikeouts.
Brooke Cottle batted 4-for-4 with two doubles and a triple.
Natalie Ramirez, Rayanna Koch (two RBI), Haley Brogden (two RBI), Santos (two RBI) and Courtney Brock (three RBI) filed three hits apiece.
Anna Thornton ended the night 1-for-3.
The Rebels (5-1 overall, 3-1 CC) visit Hobbton on Tuesday.
