BASEBALL: JH Rose tops Eastern Wayne

GREENVILLE -- Six Eastern Wayne players scratched out one hit apiece during a 12-2 loss to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference rival J.H. Rose on Friday evening.
Josh Gross, Drew Barnes, Landon Ginn, Tanner Wells, Jacob Ginn and Jay Wise each had one hit. Wells and Colby Miller each collected an RBI as the Warriors tied the game at 2-2 in the top half of the third inning.
Rose answered with five runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Four EW pitchers saw mound time -- Ryan Sullivan, Jay Wiseman, Andrew Fricks and Nathan Bell. The quartet yielded 12 runs (10 earned) on 10 hits and five walks.
The Rampants struck out twice.
