Chase Bartlett exacted a little revenge at No. 1 singles and carried that momentum into doubles play as Rosewood nipped Clinton, 5-4, on Thursday afternoon.
Barlett rallied for a 3-6, 7-6 (6), 1-0 (10-8) triumph over the Dark Horses' Zach Darden in a rematch of last week's battle won by Darden. Later in the day, Bartlett and doubles mate Collin Pendergraph earned the match-clinching point with a 9-8 (6) victory at No. 1 doubles.
"I'm really proud of Chase," RHS head coach Daniel Baynes said.
Marc Lewis, Cole Matthews and Kyle Matthews each earned a singles point for the Eagles, who rose to 6-4 overall this season. Lewis did not lose a game the No. 3 flight.
"(The) team is rounding into form after a tough week of three matches," Baynes said. "(There are) so many positive improvements from the hard work and effort that they have shown over the matches this week and yesterday's (Wednesday) tough practice."
