BOYS' TENNIS: Cougars rise to 2-0 in ECC 2A action

Goldsboro dismantled Ayden-Grifton 9-0 in an Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference match contested on the John Allen Farfour Courts at Herman Park on Thursday afternoon.
Sam DeAraujo, Xan Pate, Caleb Whitted, Aaron Podbielski, Holden Jones and Conner Pate each claimed a singles point for the Cougars. DeAraujo did not lose a game.
Whitted-X. Pate, Jones-DeAraujo and Podbielski-C. Pate completed the shutout in doubles action.
The Cougars (6-1 overall, 2-0 ECC) continue league play next Tuesday at Greene Central.
