Eastern Wayne triumphed at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles, and handed J.H. Rose a 6-3 loss in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play Thursday afternoon.
The top-seeded tandem of Dylan March-Walker Davis handed the Rampants' Brian Lin-Andy Billings an 8-4 loss. The third-seeded duo of Anass Sarah-Daniel Stevens cruised 8-1.
March, Sarah, Stevens and Ian Burchett each picked up a straight-set singles win for the Warriors.
"(A) good intense effort by our team today," EW head coach Craig Hassell said. "Ian and Dylan stepped up today with great performances in singles and doubles. Anass and Daniel, new players to our team this year, continue to make huge contributions in singles and doubles."
Eastern Wayne (3-2 overall, 2-1 ECC) visits D.H. Conley next Tuesday.
