BASEBALL: Neuse Charter slips past North Duplin

CALYPSO -- Chase King doubled during a two-hit performance, but North Duplin fell to Neuse Charter, 5-4, in the Carolina 1-A Conference opener for both teams.
Gage Smith tripled and drove in two runs. Copeland Brickhouse provided one hit and endured the mound loss. He surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and two walks, and retired eight Cougars on strikeouts.
