SNOW HILL -- Greene Central built a two-run advantage after three innings and held on to defeat Eastern Wayne, 3-2, on the James R. Fulghum Athletic Complex diamond Wednesday evening.
Landon Ginn and Colby Miller (RBI) provided one hit apiece for the Warriors. Drew Barnes picked up an RBI.
Jackson Batchelor led the Rams' offense with two hits, and earned the pitching save behind starter Cole Lanier. Lanier registered five strikeouts and four walks during his six-inning stint on the bump.
Eastern Wayne (0-4 overall) concludes its season-opening, five-game road swing next Tuesday at South Central -- the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference opener for both teams.
The Rams are 4-0 overall.
