BOYS' GOLF: Jones continues strong start

Bryce Jones posted a 2-under-par 70 on the Lane Tree Golf Club links and helped guide Charles B. Aycock to a first-place finish in a three-team Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference meet.
The Golden Falcons posted a four-player total of 316 that included 18-hole rounds of 80 by Jake Flowers, 81 by Carl Floars and 85 by Austin Green. Ty Daniels posted an 87.
Eastern Wayne took second with a 370. Drew Grady turned in an 83. Noah Forrester (94), Justin Whaley (95) and Nathan Coker (98) rounded out the Warriors' score.
Southern Wayne, led by Turner Worth with a 109, ended the day at 464.
