BOYS' GOLF: Gators place 3rd at Cardinal CC

KENLY -- Spring Creek's Cameron Yarbrough carded a 97 on the Cardinal Country Club course during the first Carolina 1-A Conference meet of the season.
The Gators finished third among six teams with a four-player score of 439. Koltyn Vermazen charted a 113, followed by Matt Herring (114) and Damon Barwick (115).
Jordan Cannady emerged Princeton's lower scorer with a 101. Blake Raynor (112), Trey Ormond (116) and Matt Pearce (117) rounded out the Bulldogs' four-player total of 446.
Cameron Klages paced Rosewood with a 90. Noah Grantham and Dawson Overby turned in 18-hole rounds of 104 and 118, respectively. The Eagles did not have enough players to log a team score.
Will Archer paced North Duplin with a 113.
