BASEBALL: Saints' offense explodes late against Gators

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Southern Wayne exploded for six runs in the sixth inning and eased past county rival Spring Creek, 11-6, on Friday afternoon.
Manny Walker led the Saints' charge with two triples and three RBI in five official at-bats. Derek Holsinger (RBI), Matthew Stott (RBI) and Jack Casbarro (RBI) supplied one hit apiece.
Casbarro claimed the mound win. He permitted five runs (two earned) on five hits and retired six Gators on strikeouts in five innings. Holsinger tossed two innings of one-hit, five-strikeout relief.
Levi Miller and Kaden Geelen (two RBI) each cranked out three hits for the Gators. Joshua Lebron mashed a home run -- his lone hit of the game. Casey Whitfield and Matt Dupuy (RBI) each contributed a hit.
Spring Creek used five pitchers -- Casey Whitfield, Christian Yarbrough, Dupuy, Landon Smothers and Geelen. The quintet combined for six strikeouts.
