KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- The University of Mount Olive Trojans opened play at the Newberry College Invitational on Monday with a team score of 313.
Nick Adams fired a 1-over par 73 -- one of the day's better rounds -- as play was suspended due to darkness.
Luis Acevedo recorded a 79 for UMO, while Harry Bayley and Patrick Schweitz fired 80 and 81, respectively.
UMO is in 14th place out of 16 teams.
WINSTON-SALEM -- UMO picked up its fourth consecutive Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field title Sunday, outdistancing Southern Wesleyan by 39.5 points. The quartet of Alexis McNeil, Alanna McCarthy, Leah Hanle and Meredith Lorien all earned individual conference titles.
McNeil, a provisional NCAA qualifier, also broke two school records in the 60m and 200m.
