Thanks in part to nine 3-pointers from Rosewood, the Eagles handed Princeton a 47-39 loss in Carolina 1-A Conference play Thursday night.
"We've struggled to shoot the ball from the perimeter for most of the season," said Eagles' head coach Daniel Mitchell. "It was a pleasant surprise for us to finally knock down some timely shots."
In the first half alone, Rosewood sank five 3-pointers, which boosted them to an 18-12 lead by halftime. Five of the Eagles' six made field goals in the first half came from beyond the arc.
The trend continued in the third quarter. Four of Rosewood's five made baskets in the third quarter were 3-pointers.
However, in the fourth quarter, Princeton didn't allow the Eagles to make a single trey. Instead, Rosewood's Tucker Chapin recorded 12 of his team's 15 points in the final stanza to help clinch the victory.
"The biggest thing is, they made their open 3's, and we missed ours," said Princeton head coach Jeff Davis. "That was the difference -- they didn't even get it inside any."
Rosewood senior Noah Grantham -- who played his final home game -- recorded 13 points and four 3-pointers. Princeton's Colby Sullivan paced the Bulldogs with 11 points.
