PIKEVILLE -- C.B. Aycock fell behind early, and never recovered in its 62-33 loss to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe J.H. Rose Tuesday night.
The 29-point deficit was the Golden Falcons' second-worst loss of the season.
"They quit," said CBA head coach Dave Elmore. "They're done and ready to pack it in. There's not much more I can say than that."
Through the first 10 minutes of the game, the Golden Falcons kept pace with the Rampants and even took a 12-11 lead in the second quarter.
But that was quickly erased by a Rose 3-pointer, which triggered a 15-2 and gave the visitors a 26-14 lead at halftime.
CBA committed 11 turnovers in the second stanza.
The Rampants outscored the Golden Falcons 36-19 in the second half.
Semaj Yelverton scored a team-high 11 points for CBA. Marquez Farmer and Aaron Corbett cored six points apiece.
The Golden Falcons (4-17, 0-11 ECC) host Eastern Wayne in the regular-season finale for both teams Thursday night. Elmore said he was unsure of what to expect of his team heading into the rivalry game.
"We'll see at practice (today) if that happens,"said Elmore, regarding the team's preparedness for Thursday night. "I won't know until (today). We'll see what their mindset is."
