BOYS' BASKETBALL: Portela leads Goldsboro Heat over South Wake

FUQUAY-VARINA -- Gavin Portela tickled the twine for 24 points as Goldsboro Heat stunned South Wake on Monday.
Portela also dished out nine assists, pulled down seven rebounds and picked the Sabres for four steals.
Harman Kaler added 15 points. Hayden Portela chipped in eight points, while Ben Daniels buried a pair of 3-pointers.
The Heat had 16 assists as a team.
Goldsboro (12-7 overall, 6-6) clinched the No. 5 seed for regional play and entertains East Wake for senior night on Friday.
