GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Lakewood defeats N. Duplin

CALYPSO -- Lakewood pulled away in the second half for a 39-24 conquest of Carolina 1-A Conference foe North Duplin on Saturday evening.
The Leopards led 20-14 at halftime and extended their advantage to 29-20 after three periods. Kiarya Bailey poured in a game-high 20 points for the visitors.
Destiny George led the Rebels with eight points. Mary Taylor Jones and Alyssa Santos scored seven points apiece. Kenzie Taylor registered two points.
North Duplin (0-16 overall) plays host to Rosewood today.
