Wayne Country Day recorded 24 assists as a team during its 91-64 dismantling of Community Christian in a Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference affair Tuesday evening.

"We got ahead early and were able to set the tone quickly," said WCDS head coach David Flowers, whose team picked the Cyclones for 15 steals and knocked down 12 three-pointers.

Jamal King led the Chargers' offense with 18 points. Jimmie Sanders and PJ Hill contributed 14 points apiece. It was the final regular-season home game for three WCDS seniors -- Hill, John Strickland and Mitch Turnage. Each player hit their first 3-point attempt in the game.

Wayne Country Day (18-8 overall, 7-0 CPIC) clinched at least a tie for the CPIC regular-season title heading into Friday's contest at arch rival Greenfield.
