* Boys' basketball: Spring Creek 53, Princeton 39 -- Demartae Bizzell led three Gators in double figures with 16 points. Daquan Bynum knocked down 12 points, while Tyrese Artis contributed 11 points.

* Boys' basketball: Wayne Country Day 55, Christ Covenant 25 -- Noah Atwood led three Chargers in double figures with 13 points. Kevin Baker chipped in 12 points, while Andrew Gattis tallied 11 points. Wayne Country Day (10-4 overall) improved to 4-0 in Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference play and entertains Wayne Christian on Friday.

Middle schools

* Girls' basketball: Christ Covenant 35, Wayne Christian 25 -- Hayli Verme paced the Eagles' offensive attack with nine points. Sydnei Rosso and Brianna Verme tallied eight points apiece. The Eagles play host to Faith Christian-Rocky Mount today.

* Boys' basketball: Wayne Country Day 42, Christ Covenant 35 -- Dylan Brown registered nine points in the Chargers' victory on the Coastal Plains Independent 1-A scene. Tanner Willman and Thomas Sumner each had eight points. The Chargers (8-4 overall, 4-0 CPIC) play host to Wayne Christian on Friday.
