Jamal King torched the nets for a team-leading 30 points as Wayne Country Day endured a 64-54, non-conference loss to perennial power Trinity Christian of Fayetteville.
King also grabbed 10 rebounds.
Cole Atwood tickled the twine for 11 points. Jimmie Sanders passed out five assists.
"We played well, just not good enough to win," Chargers head coach David Flowers said. "(We) couldn't seem to find our shot, but still maintained a lead by three at halftime and a majority of the third quarter.
"It was a six-point game with two minutes left and then we started fouling. They just made their shots."
The Chargers (16-8 overall) entertain Wayne Christian on Friday.
