LIBERTY, Va. -- University of Mount Olive indoor track and field standouts Leah Hanle, Taylor Moncrief and Adam Craig each broke a school record during the Liberty Kickoff.
Hanle, a freshman, ran the mile in 5 minutes, 8.85 seconds -- nearly 8 seconds faster than the previous program record set by Paulena Kremling in 2016. Moncrief cleared 1.61 meters in the high jump, a program-best effort during the pentathlon.
Craig set not only took over the program's top spot in the 5,000 -- his time of 14:39.61 is below the NCAA provisional standard by five seconds and bested the school record set by Austin Steagall.
In all, 86 Trojan athletes recorded season-best performances during the two-day meet.
UMO returns to action Jan. 29 at the UNG Dual Meet Madness at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.
