BOYS' BASKETBALL: Chargers beat Cougars with 3-pointer as time expires

LITTLEFIELD -- Ayden-Grifton drained a 3-pointer as time expired and turned back Goldsboro, 56-53, in an Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference encounter Friday evening.
Isaiah Wilder paced three Cougars in double figures with 18 points. Jaryan Hargis and Daryl Gaddis knocked down 16 and 12 points, respectively.
The Cougars (8-7 overall, 1-3 ECC) entertain league-leading and state-ranked Greene Central next Tuesday.
