UMO: Trojan men fall to Wingate

MOUNT OLIVE -- Wingate built a double-digit lead in the opening half and handed University of Mount Olive an 84-61, non-conference loss in men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Cameron Robinson dropped in 21 points for the Trojans, who endured their ninth consecutive defeat. Robinson shot 7 of 15 from the floor.
Freshman Tyler Thomas stuffed the statsheet with 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals. Tayon Gleaves knocked down 14 points.
Mike Baez led Wingate with 21 points.
Mount Olive (1-11 overall) steps back into Conference Carolinas play with a weekend doubleheader. The Trojans entertain Limestone on Friday and Southern Wesleyan on Saturday.
Tip-off for both games is 7:30 p.m.
