Jamal King had 25 points and transfer guard Jimmie Sanders registered 17, but it wasn't enough to propel in Wayne Country Day's 74-56 loss to Trinity Christian Monday night.
"Guys played well, we just couldn't get over the hump," head coach David Flowers said, "We cut the lead to 11 in the fourth, but couldn't get any closer."
The Chargers play Thursday at Parrott Academy in Kinston.
