SEVEN SPRINGS -- Gabriel Herrera-Soria scored two goals and Spring Creek defeated Carolina 1-A Conference foe James Kenan, 3-2, in controversial fashion on Wednesday evening.
Officials called the game in the 65th minute due to darkness.
The N.C. High School Athletic Association rulebook said that "if a game is suspended at halftime or beyond, the game is over. If one team is ahead when the game is suspended, then it is the winner."
Hugo Zavala Gil tallied a goal off Alex Avila's assist.
Julio Castro and Thony Solomon scored for the Tigers.
