NEWTON GROVE -- Hobbton collected the game-deciding goal in the 76th minute and handed North Duplin a 3-2 loss in Carolina 1-A Conference play Thursday afternoon.
The Rebels twice rallied from a one-goal deficit.
Wilber Velasquez knotted the game at 1-all with an unassisted goal in the 30th minute. Hobbton converted a penalty kick in the 67th minute, only to see ND's Dario Castenada provide the equalizer in the 70th minute.
The teams combined for nine corner kicks.
ND goalie Felipe Prudencio collected eight saves.
"It was a good game," Rebels head coach James Foster said. "We could have done some things better, but (we) just have to play together."
The Rebels (4-7-1 Carolina) travel to county rival James Kenan on Monday.
