GIRLS' TENNIS: New Bern trips up CBA

PIKEVILLE - New Bern handed Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference rival Charles B. Aycock a 6-3 loss on the Luke Vail Tennis Courts on Monday afternoon.
Lexi Reeves and Hannah Tyndall each earned a singles point for the Golden Falcons. Reeves defeated the Bears' Hannah Smith 6-3, 7-5. Tyndall pulled out a 7-6 (6), 6-2 win over Paige Fountain at the No. 5 flight.
Reeves-Michaela Boyd emerged victorious at No. 3 doubles.
Aycock returns to action today at J.H. Rose and concludes regular-season play at home Thursday against playoff-bound Eastern Wayne.
