PREPS DIGEST: JV, middle schools

JV

* Volleyball: C.B. Aycock d. Eastern Wayne 21-25, 25-23, 25-15 -- Daelyn Brock paced the Golden Falcons' offense with 11 kills, while Ana Girard provided four kills. Sophomore McKenzie Norris and freshman Ansleigh Boyd served seven and four aces, respectively. Norris handed out eight assists. Freshman Abigail Lancaster logged 26 digs on defense.

* Volleyball: North Duplin d. Neuse Charter 25-18, 14-25, 15-8 -- The Rebels (4-6 overall) rose to 3-4 against Carolina 1-A Conference opposition this season.

* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Lakewood 14-25, 26-24, 15-12 -- Mikayla Price sparked the Gators with two aces, three digs and six kills. Emily Dupuy served an ace and pounded out six kills. McKinley Edmondson registered two aces, a team-high 12 assists, one dig and one kill.

* Volleyball: Princeton d. James Kenan 25-15, 25-15 -- Kalli Jones led the Bulldogs' offense with four kills. Hannah Byrd, Harley Parker and Hailey Woodall provided two kills apiece. Lily Eklund served seven aces and handed out eight assists. Riley Whitley contributed four aces. Princeton entertains Rosewood on Tuesday.

* Volleyball: South Lenoir d. Goldsboro 25-13, 25-15 -- Grace Tart served three aces during the Cougars' road loss on Thursday.

Middle schools

* Volleyball: Norwayne d. Wayne School of Engineering 25-11, 25-12, 23-25, 25-15 -- Katie Parrish led the Cobras with eight service aces, while Abby Thomas contributed six aces. Norwayne had six kills as a team. The Cobras (4-0 overall) continue play Monday at Grantham, while the Titans (2-2) are the guests of Dillard.

* Volleyball: Parrott Academy d. Wayne Christian 23-25, 25-12, 25-17 -- The Eagles play host to Rocky Mount Academy on Monday.

* Football: Grantham 38, Mount Olive 0 -- Mark Graham rushed for two touchdowns, returned a punt for another scored and collected a pair of two-point conversions for the victorious Bulldogs. De'Zhar Howell broke free for a 60-yard TD run. Trae Roa threw a 30-yard TD strike to Tayvon Callahan. Grantham also got two-point conversions from Kadarius Hall, Terquavis Butler and Tanner Brock. The Bulldogs (2-0 overall) entertain Rosewood next Thursday.

* Football: Norwayne 16, Eastern Wayne 12 -- Omar Tucker and Tylil Faison each rushed for a touchdown for Norwayne. Faison and Clay Matthews each provided a two-point conversion. Tucker, Tory Deleon and Chris Ellis emerged as the Cobras' leaders on defense. Cameron Jones forced a fumble recovery. Norwayne (1-1 overall) entertains Spring Creek next Wednesday.

* Volleyball: Grantham d. Brogden 24-26, 25-7, 25-23, 25-15 -- Morgan Kennedy and Abbey Parker served 11 aces apiece for the unbeaten Bulldogs. Allie Lane collected six aces. Kennedy cranked out five kills. Alissa Meadows and Haley Toler recorded four and two kills, respectively. Grantham (4-0 overall) plays host to Norwayne on Monday, while Brogden (0-4) is the guest of Mount Olive the same afternoon.

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Eastern Wayne 25-11, 25-10, 25-13 -- Allicia Langdon served seven aces for the Eagles, who improved to 3-1 overall this season. Rosewood welcomes Spring Creek to the Eagles' Nest on Monday.

* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Mount Olive 25-8, 25-17, 25-13 -- Alissa Price and Virginia Edmondson emerged as the offensive leaders during the Gators' three-set sweep. Spring Creek (2-1) continues play Monday at Rosewood.
