CALYPSO -- Spring Creek punched in three goals within a 4-minute stretch midway through the second half and eased past Carolina 1-A Conference foe North Duplin, 7-4, at H.E. Grubbs Field on Thursday evening.

Gustavo Avalos notched six goals, including a penalty kick. Hugo Zavala Gil assisted on two goals. Jose Reynaga, Josh Beckerman and Alejandro Marrero Peralta each provided one assist.

Reynaga added a goal off Gil's assist.

The Gators led 3-0 after 32 minutes before the Rebels' Juan Garcia scored on Henry Silva's assist. ND tied the game at 3-all on goals from Dario Castenada (42nd minute) and Wilber Velasquez (45th).

Spring Creek punched in four goals during a 14-minute span, including penalty kick in the 52nd minute.

Silva finished off the Rebels' scoring with an unassisted goal.

ND keeper Felipe Prudencio logged seven saves.

"Spring Creek got out to an early lead and used their speed on defense to stop our runs," Rebels head coach James Foster said. "I thought we had a better game tonight offensively, but struggled on the defensive side."

The Rebels (3-4-1 overall) entertain county rival James Kenan next Wednesday.
