Postponements and Games Moved

Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rains that blanketed parts of eastern North Carolina, including Wayne County, forced the postponement of several games Monday evening.

Weather permitting, Community Christian travels to Wayne Country Day today for a Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference boys' soccer match.

Three soccer games scheduled for Monday were moved to Thursday - Southern Wayne at Goldsboro, James Kenan at Rosewood and Spring Creek at North Duplin.

North Duplin athletics director Ricky Edwards said today's volleyball match at Rosewood has been moved to Wednesday after Duplin County Schools officials cancelled all after-school events scheduled for today.

Charles B. Aycock athletics director said Wednesday's road tennis match at Rosewood was cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The Golden Falcons are scheduled to play host to county rival Southern Wayne for pro-set (eight-game) matches in singles and doubles.
