CALYPSO -- Hobbton punched in three goals during the opening 34 minutes of the first half, and cruised past North Duplin, 7-2, in a Carolina 1-A Conference played at H.E. Grubbs Field on Wednesday.
The Rebels' Juan Garcia converted a corner kick in the 26th minute. Teammate Dario Casteneda scored in the 80th minute.
Hobbton owned an 11-2 edge in corner kicks.
ND goalies Felipe Prudencio and Raul Romero combined for 12 saves between the pipes.
"Hobbton played a good game, controlled the ball and (had) many opportunities," Rebels head coach James Foster said. "We lacked energy and control. The long layoff hurt us this week."
Weather permitting, the Rebels (3-3-1 overall) entertain Spring Creek today. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
