GIRLS' TENNIS: Princeton doubles up Goldsboro

Princeton prevailed on two of three doubles courts and turned back Goldsboro, 6-3, in non-conference play Tuesday afternoon.
The top-seeded tandem of Emily Shallington-Mackenzie Evans handed the Cougars' Haley Jones-Anna Prezbindowski a 10-3 defeat. The No. 2 duo of Cailee Vetrano-Jasmine Rubin triumphed 10-7 over Hannah Williamson-Abigail Lewis.
Shallington, Evans, Vetrano and Lauren Lawhorn each claimed a singles point for the Bulldogs.
Goldsboro's Lewis and sixth-seeded Crystal Golden each won their respective singles match. Lewis battled from behind to defeat Jasmine Rubio 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8). Meanwhile, Golden outlasted the Bulldogs' Lauren Askew 6-4, 7-6 (5).
The Cougars' Rachel Johnson-Golden emerged victorious at the No. 3 doubles flight.
