GIRLS' GOLF: CBA places second

MOUNT OLIVE -- Abby Sauls finished runner-up in individual play and Charles B. Aycock placed second as a team during an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference match contested at Southern Wayne Country Club on Monday afternoon.
Sauls carded a 43 and the Golden Falcons posted a three-player total of 153 - 20 strokes behind meet winner New Bern. Leah Campbell, Anna Williams and Savannah Strickland each shot a 55 for CBA.
Cathryn Jones logged a 53 for Southern Wayne, which ended up fourth at 172. Amanda Murphy completed the nine-hole round with a 56, while teammate Lauren Davis carded a 63.
ECC play resumes next Monday at The Emerald in New Bern.n.
