CROSS COUNTRY: Atwood, Jones collect wins

Wayne Country Day's Cole Atwood and Janae Jones each collected another individual victory during a multi-team meet contested on the Chargers' home course Monday afternoon.
Atwood emerged as the top boys' runner with a time of 18 minutes, 24 seconds. Teammates Connor Bauer (20:37) and Suraj Patel (22:05) each finished among the top 10. Brandon Talton took 12th in 22:28 and Case Kermode wound up 13th in 22:33.
Harrison Freeman led Faith Christian with a 22:36. Hayden Boelier (25:46), Blaise Conlon (26:13), Will Edwards (26:14) and Cooper Voeilu (27:14) also competed for the Conquerors.
Parrott won the team portion.
Jones ran the 5k course in 23:03 and teammate Gray Young crossed the line second in 23:08. Ashton Gupton posted a seventh-place time of 25:24. The Chargers' tandem of Hayden Nielsen (26:08) and Katherine Eltz (26:31) grabbed 10th and 11th, respectively.
Trista Alexander paced Faith's runners with a time of 32:01. Teammates Kayla Woodard (34:34), Taylor Skinner (34:59) and McKayla Kornegay (38:19) also ran for the Conquerors.
