FOOTBALL: Franklinton knocks off Princeton

FRANKLINTON -- Earl Gibson Jr. rushed for three touchdowns as Princeton dropped a 38-27, non-conference loss to Franklinton.
Gibson Jr. scored from 3 and 57 yards out, and returned a kickoff 80 yards to the house. He compiled 127 yards on 14 carries.
Backfield mate Matt Stallworth, the area's leading rusher, rambled for 148 yards on 25 carries. Trace James added 78 yards and a third-quarter touchdown run on 12 rushing attempts.
Adam Crocker completed passes to James and Garrett Kline.
The Bulldogs (1-2 overall) entertain county rival North Johnston on Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Harvey Brooks Field.
