* Girls' tennis: Wayne Country Day 5, Kerr-Vance 4 -- Short-handed Wayne Country Day won two critical doubles points to edge the Spartans on Tuesday afternoon. The Nos. 2 and 3 tandems of Hanna McKeithan-Cady Stanley and Diya Shreenath-Grace O'Daniel each pulled out a highly-competitive win. Stanley, Shreenath and O'Daniel each picked up a singles point. WCDS forfeited at No. 3 and No. 6 doubles.
* Boys' soccer: Parrott Academy 2, Wayne Country Day 1 -- Frank Best scored the Chargers' lone goal in a non-conference loss Tuesday afternoon.
* Volleyball: Cleveland d. Rosewood 25-7, 25-16 -- No additional information was available.
* Volleyball: C.B. Aycock d. Spring Creek 25-21, 25-12 -- Sophomore Daelyn Brock and freshman Lydia Butler logged five and four kills, respectively, in the straight-set sweep of the Gators. Freshmen Anna Girard and Victoria Patnaude combined for five solo blocks. McKenzie Norris passed out 10 assists, while freshman Abigail Lancaster and Brock each had seven digs on defense. Shae Odom dished out three assists for the Gators. Mikayla Price (two kills, one ace and one block) and Emily Dupuy (two digs, one kill) also contributed for SC.
* Boys' soccer: Corinth-Holders 9, C.B. Aycock 0 - It was the Golden Falcons' season-opening match.
