GIRLS' GOLF: 9 teams tackle Lane Tree GC

Charles B. Aycock's Abby Sauls and Rosewood's Shamayah Revis shared third place with nine-hole rounds of 49 during a nine-team meet contested on the Lane Tree Golf Club links Tuesday afternoon.
Triton won the team portion with a 150.
Sauls, Leah Campbell (51) and Savannah Strickland (55) rounded out the Golden Falcons' three-player team total of 155. Teammate Anna Williams carded a 57.
North Johnston took third place, followed by a fourth-place tie between Goldsboro and Rosewood at 172. Riley Hales led GHS with a 53. Fellow Cougars Ashley Smith and Caroline Foy posted scores of 59 and 60, respectively.
Revis, a returning regional and state qualifier, got quality efforts from teammates Rebecca Dunham (60) and Sequoia Davis (63).
Wayne Christian captured sixth place. Grace Buddin (56), Laura Kim (59), Brianna Verme (59), Annalise Fitzmorris (62) and Christian Jimenez (63) competed for the Eagles.
Southern Wayne's Catherine Jones carded a 56. Princeton's Casey Mitchell turned in a 59.
Clinton's Amy Wooten seized medalist honors with 2-over 38.
