Noah Adkins converted a pair of penalty kicks and provided an assist as Wayne Country Day knocked off Rocky Mount Academy, 4-1, on Thursday afternoon.
Luis Lopez notched the game-deciding goal -- a trapped ball off his chest that led to a laser shot past the RMA keeper. RMA closed the gap to 2-1 before Adkins knocked in his second PK of the game and third of the season.
Hunter Bryson iced the game on an assist from Shaw.
"We moved the ball really well in the first half and should have been up by more than two at halftime," WCDS head coach Steve Ellis said. "We took our foot off the pedal for about 10 minutes in the second half and let RMA back into the game before kick starting ourselves again.
"It was a good performance from Adkins who dictated the play and led the team like a true captain."
The Chargers (4-1-0 overall) carries a four-game win streak into next Tuesday's non-conference home affair against Kerr-Vance Academy.
