VOLLEYBALL: Goldsboro starts season with 3-set win

WARSAW -- Goldsboro opened its 2016 season with a 25-18, 25-18, 25-17 non-conference sweep of James Kenan inside Harmon Gymnasium on Monday evening.
Jacqueira Braswell led the Cougars with a team-high six kills and two blocks. Amber Pfennig had five kills. Becca Pittard emerged as the defensive leader with six digs.
Riley Howell served four aces.
Goldsboro (1-0 overall) visits Hobbton on Wednesday.
