PREPS: Eastern Wayne shuts out CBA on soccer pitch

Eastern Wayne fired nine shots on goal and turned back county rival Charles B. Aycock, 2-0, in an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A league matchup Saturday night at New Hope.
The Warriors (7-9-2 overall) finished 5-7-0 in league play.
Claire Molloy scored an unassisted goal at the match's 10-minute mark, and was joined two minutes into the second half by Yessenia Gutierrez.
Junior Brennan Dove recorded an assist.
Goalkeeper Hannah Wright stopped seven shots for the Golden Falcons, who finished the season 10-8 overall and 5-7-0 in the ECC.
Both teams return to action Wednesday in opening-round action of the 2016 N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs.
