C.B. Aycock softball wins Harnett Central Easter Invitational

ANGIER -- Allie Phillips logged five strikeouts inside the pitcher's circle, and Charles B. Aycock defeated South Johnston, 7-6, in the Harnett Central Easter Invitational championship game Tuesday afternoon.
Phillips (4-0) walked just one batter and yielded a home run during her complete-game effort.
Mookie Powell (two RBI) and Mackenzie Wheeler (three RBI) pounded out three hits apiece for the Golden Falcons, who remained unbeaten in 12 outings this year.
Connor Vinson (RBI), Taylor Puetz and senior catcher Abbie Walton (RBI) each contributed two hits at the plate.
Aycock returns home Tuesday to face Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe New Bern. First pitch is 6 p.m.
