Goldsboro sweeps doubleheader against Westover

FAYETTEVILLE -- Maurice Stokes logged nine strikeouts on the mound in a six-inning stint as Goldsboro claimed an 18-11 win over Westover on Monday afternoon.
Chandler Patrick pitched the seventh.
Jon Stevens, Tommy Vick, Stokes delivered two hits apiece. Patrick, Ty Barnes and Eli Curtis each had one hit.
Chandler emerged as the winning pitcher in game two -- a 6-4 triumph. Stevens and Vick each had two hits.
