CBA softball slugs it way past South Central

WINTERVILLE -- Madison Walton belted a three-run home run as Charles B. Aycock rallied from a seven-run deficit to defeat South Central, 16-8, in an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference battle Thursday evening.
The Golden Falcons took an 8-7 lead in the top half of the fifth inning and tacked on eight additional runs in the seventh.
Walton, Mookie Powell (RBI), Conner Vinson (three RBI), Cassandra Lassiter, Taylor Puetz (RBI) and catcher Abbie Walton (three RBI) provided two hits apiece.
CBA had 15 hits on the night.
Allison Shingleton emerged as the winning pitcher in relief. She improved to 4-0 inside the circle this season.
