Saints' Bryan strikes out 8 in win over JH Rose

DUDLEY -- Mackenzie Bryan scattered three hits and logged eight strikeouts inside the pitcher's circle during Southern Wayne's 9-4 conquest of Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe J.H. Rose on Tuesday evening.
Bryan surrendered four runs (two earned) and walked one in a complete-game performance.
The Saints broke the game open with a seven-run outburst that encompassed the fourth and fifth innings. They collected 16 hits on the day -- including three from Dawn Anderson. Rebecca Coor and Amber Pfennig provided two hits apiece. Coor smacked a double, while Pfennig belted a triple.
Southern Wayne (4-5 overall, 2-1 ECC) travels to South Johnston today and takes on D.H. Conley on Thursday.
