Patriots defeat Chargers in boys' tennis

Sam Dively and doubles mate Preston Edwards accounted for Wayne Country Day's points in a 7-2, non-conference loss to perennial 2-A independent powerhouse Parrott Academy on Monday afternoon.
Dively defeated the Patriots' William Hill 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Dively-Edwards handled Parrott's duo of Hill-Cameron Pope 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.
Wayne Country Day (2-3 overall) returns home Thursday to face Oakwood, which has played for the last two N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A dual-team tennis championships.
