PRINCETON -- Taylor Carroll stroked a two-RBI single into center field during a third-inning uprising and sparked Princeton past county archrival North Johnston, 4-1, on Friday evening.
Tied at 1-1 through 21/2 innings, Peedin drew a lead-off walk to start the Bulldogs' rally. Megan Bryant legged out an infield bunt and both runners advanced on Brianna Myers' groundout to third base.
Carroll followed with her base knock and took second on a throwing error. Hailey Wood walked and Beth Braswell loaded the bases with a hit.
Emily Ricks plated Carroll to push Princeton's lead to 4-1.
Wood threw a complete game inside the pitcher's circle. The right-hander held the Panthers scoreless after the first inning, permitted three hits and posted a season-high 16 strikeouts.
Carroll ended the day with two hits.
One night, Braswell belted two home runs as the Bulldogs throttled Hobbton, 11-0, in a five-inning Carolina 1-A Conference encounter. Carroll and Ricks provided two hits apiece at the plate.
Braswell also claimed the mound win. She yielded one hit, one walk and retired seven Wildcat batters on seven strikeouts in a complete-game effort.
Princeton (5-0 overall, 2-0 CC) faces Spring Creek on Monday.
