Rebels' Brogden, Santos combine for no-hitter

WARSAW -- Haley Brogden and Alyssa Santos combined for no-hitter inside the pitcher's circle as defending state champion North Duplin thrashed James Kenan, 28-0, on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene Thursday.
Brogden retired five Tigers on strikeouts in two innings. Santos posted six strikeouts in two innings of relief. It was the Rebels' second straight no-hitter within a 24-hour period.
Brogden paced the offense with two hits. Rylee Pate and Mikayla Koch posted one hit apiece.
North Duplin (5-1 overall, 2-0 CC) entertains Rosewood next Tuesday.
